Long May She ReignLong May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Overall a good book that certainly had it's ups and downs. If anything this book seems more like a starter for a series. Some parts were slow and other areas picked up with twists and excitement. I usually read books with obvious magic, where Long May She Reign as you can tell by the cover leans more on the scientific side. Which turned out to be refreshing.
I enjoyed reading about Freya growing into the "Scientific Queen". Though the story left me unsatisfied, after watching her find herself the ending felt anticlimactic. The entire story was located in a castle of some sort, sure during the story, they moved from castle to fort, but there was not much of a change in scenery. The book just need not seem to expand. Plot-wise was good, again it felt like a story made to introduce you to the kingdom and its people. People were let go, feelings left unresolved and friendships possibly ending in the near future. I guess because I feel that way the Author did a good job of leaving me wanting more.
I did enjoy this book, a little difficult to stick with, but it left me cheering for Freya as a queen.
